I'm Changing the Future - Are You?
I have a long history with United Way. Many years ago in Ontario, I was a workplace volunteer, and when I moved to BC, I became a Board member for the Nelson & District United Way. I have also worked for organizations that received funding from the United Way.
Yesterday I attended, and was truly moved by the United Way of the Lower Mainland's campaign kick-off breakfast.
The theme of this year's campaign is "I'm Changing the Future".
The many dedicated people, mostly volunteers that work together to raise funds to make a difference in the lives of people and communities are indeed changing the future and are truly inspiring.
With its priority on improving the lives of children, youth, and seniors, the United Way of the Lower Mainland directs fundraised contributions to society's most vulnerable.
I am proud to be connected to Success By 6, an initiative of the United Way whose focus is on helping all children succeed for life.
