Success By 6 brings together partners from all sectors - provincial & municipal government, community and Aboriginal services, health, education, child care, recreation, libraries and more - to work together to create child and family friendly communities. 

Regional coordinators and Aboriginal coordinators in 21 regions work with over 120 Early Years planning councils that support over 550 communities throughout BC.

Strides Made in Improving Campbell River Children's Readiness


Campbell Riverities expected to die sooner, face higher unemployment rates. In the midst of those sobering statistics, Dr. Charmaine Enns, medical health officer for Island Health, shares that there are, however, some positives. Strides have been made in improving Campbell River children's readiness to learn when they enter school for the first time, thanks to the efforts of groups such as Success By 6 and other stakeholders who work with children.

New Children's Health Hub in Gold River!

Gold River has a new Children's Health Hub under development and will host a grand opening event to launch this new initiative and physical site mid-September 2017! Read how this was all made possible through many community stakeholders coming together at their local Success By 6 Early Years Community Development Planning table and addressing the specific needs identified in their community.

Success By 6 BC has recently been profiled in “Implementing Multi-Sectoral Healthy Child Development Initiatives” - a publication of the Canadian Council on Social Determinants of Health (CCSDH). Success By 6 BC is highlighted in this publication as a promising initiative– particularly in regard to Aboriginal Early Childhood Development.

Echoes of First Nations and Metis Values Project - South Vancouver Island

The Aboriginal Engagement Initiative - Success By 6 South Island have recently completed their Echoes of First Nations and Metis Values Project. This project has led to the creation of a visual report as well as an accompanying video.
